Case Study – Touch Screen Kiosks
BACK
PROJECT: Mater Hospital PlaceStories Installation
The Challenge
PlaceStories is a platform that allows users to publish multimedia stories. KND teamed up with the PlaceStories team to build a touch screen installation for the Neonatal ward at the Mater Hospital to help mothers tell their stories. The interface was required to search up to 5000 stories via 7 search criteria with 1 finger.
The Solution
An interface was designed in partnership with Red-i Design and implemented in Flash. The animations are intuitive for any age and provide an entertaining way to find specific stories or just browse while you are waiting.
Results
The Mater Hospital loved the concept and is planning to roll out the system across other wards in the hospital. The system may also be used to display stories written by doctors to record case histories for other doctors and surgeons.
